FEELING STRESSED? AN INTRODUCTION TO IAPT
What is the IAPT service?
The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme aims to make it easier for people to get in touch with psychological services in the NHS. The confidential service provides advice, information and a therapy service for people who feel stressed, anxious, low in mood or depressed. You can contact them by phone or in person and talk through the issues you feel are important and so they can be addressed.
How the service can help you
Where is the service available?
The IAPT service is now available twice a week at the Wood End Health Centre on Deedmore Road:
Wednesday: A High Intensity Therapist is available every Wednesday morning who delivers Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Anxiety and Depression and Depression and Stress groups.
Friday: A Low Intensity Therapist is available every Friday morning who can offer interventions such as Computerised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Who can refer you?
Evidence shows therapy is as effective as drugs in the short-term and longer lasting in the long-term.
