Project description / summary: The aim of this project is to reduce overall crime during school holiday periods and to improve young peoples engagement with youth service provision. It is recognised that there is an element of young people in the WEHM area who do not engage with youth provision.
This will be achieved by, police officers and community support officers targeting areas, known crime hotspots and locations subject to nuisance from young people. Their role will be to provide reassurance to the community, deter offences and to engage with young people and refer them to the range of youth service activities available.
The NDC Young Advisors and the Fusion Bus will be used to target young people and direct them to existing provision and provide them with messages about not getting involved with criminal activities.
