Redevelopment Scheme

READY, SET, GO - FOR PHASE 1A1

Demolition and site preparation work is now complete for Phase 1A1 of the £360m redevelopment programme set to transform the four NDC neighbourhoods.

In February contractors MV Kelly carried out essential groundwork on the former Deedmore School space ready for start on-site in May. The first of the 154 homes in Phase 1A1 are due to be built by October 2010. A Westbury Partnership office is now on-site where site manager Les McMahon will be based.

In March the planning application for Phases 1A2-4 were also signed off by the City Council. Project Director Lynn Wassell, who is leading the work on behalf of Whitefriars, Coventry City Council and NDC, said: “We’re really excited about seeing the project come to life next year. This is a huge milestone in the scheme which we’ve only been able to reach thanks to the tireless support and input from local residents.”

Residents will be kept up-to-date with all news surrounding the redevelopment through the magazine Spirit Quarterly which is a publication funded by all partners involved in the project. However, if you require immediate advice you can contact the Whitefriars Regeneration Team.
