STEP CLOSER FOR NEW HOMES

GREAT NEWS! – NDC RESIDENTS CAN AT LAST LOOK FORWARD TO REDEVELOPMENT WORKS STARTING IN SPRING AFTER CITY COUNCIL GAVE THE GO AHEAD FOR THE FIRST 150 NEW HOMES IN PHASE 1A1.

Planners from City Council have now approved the detailed plans for Phase 1A1 after receiving the application, submitted by Whitefriars Housing Group with the developers Bovis, Keepmoat Homes and Westbury Partnerships, back in October.

This means the first steps towards re-building the WEHM neighbourhood (Wood End, Henley Green, Manor Farm and Deedmore) can begin in May.
The first of the 154 homes, a mix of two and three storey properties with gardens, will be handed over in October.

“The submission of the planning application for phase 1A1 reaffirms to the residents of the WEHM area, the commitment to the regeneration process by residents and agencies alike. This important step towards the physical regeneration of the area gives a feeling of comfort that we are moving closer to seeing the actual building work commence in May,” said Martin Smith, a resident member of the NDC Board.

NEED MORE INFORMATION?

Join the Regeneration Action Team (RATS). Meetings are held every six weeks and involve local residents, the developers BKW, Whitefriars Housing and NDC. It really is the best way to keep on top of latest developments and have your say. The next RATS meeting is on Thursday March 4th from 6.30-8.00pm at the Whitefriars Office.

Drop in to see the Whitefriars Regeneration Team. They have an office on Hillmorton Road in Wood End (the old NDC office). You can either drop in to the office and speak to one of the team about your specific circumstances or can make an appointment for them to visit you. Call 024 7658 7065 now.
