Tired, sluggish and short of breath?  Then its about time you got FIT!!

Did you know it is recommended that children do 60 minutes of moderate activity on most days of the week? Becoming active can increase your strength, help you lose weight and for kids it will give them self-esteem, helping them to mix with other kids, keeping them fit and active.

Here in the NDC we have a project dedicated to ensuring that local young people always have the opportunity to play sports and try new activities.  The team aims to provide young people with good quality and affordable sport and leisure activity, in their local area.

The long-term aims of the team are to:

  • Create greater community cohesion
  • Contribute towards greater safer, stronger communities
  • Create better opportunities for local people
  • Develop the skills of local of people
  • Sustain local projects through capacity building
  • Develop a wide network of links to ensure progression routes are in place
  • Support our partners in meeting a variety of inclusion based outputs

What do we offer?

  • Curriculum-based sessions for young people who are identified as being 'at risk' of exclusion
  • Evening sessions most nights of the week including weekends
  • 'Drop in' sport and leisure sessions
  • Competitive sports teams
  • Volunteer development
  • Coach education programmes

Most of the sessions are drop in but will need to sign a consent form.
