Name: Multi Agency Support Team (MAST)

Start date: 2005/06

End date: 2008/09

Project Lead: Barbara Wistow

Lead Organisation: Coventry City Council

Project description / summary:  The purpose of the project is to enhance the mental health of children aged 0 - 11years in the NDC area by providing multi-agency support and guidance when concerns first begin to develop.  Support will be provided much earlier than is usually the case with statutory services.  The work will involve direct work with the children and work with their parents and carers, their teachers and other key adults in their lives.  The service will be highly accessible for users, and will be provided by a multi-agency team of six staff: a specialist senior educational psychologist, a primary mental health worker, a speech and language therapist/teacher, a specialist teacher (learning and behaviour difficulties) and two family support workers.
