News Update

In October the NDC Partnership Board approved Moat House Community Trust’s plans to develop a Business Centre on Alderman’s Green Industrial Estate, making over £1million available to make it happen.

The Trust will buy a large building on the estate, and will re-furbish it to house up to 15 small businesses, both light industrial and offices. This will include the Trust’s own social enterprises with the Bridge to Work team and others scheduled to move in when the Centre opens next summer.

The planning application for the refurbishment was submitted to the authorities on 9th December and fingers crossed - news on this is expected in February.
Sheila Sturgeon, Moat House Development Manager said: “As well as providing a new and valuable resource for the business community in the area, we hope that community groups and resident’s associations will use the Centre for meetings and administration.”

The Trust will continue to keep you updated through Your Shout so watch this space for an exciting chance to be a part of the centre as it gets closer to opening…
