Project description / summary:  To develop a community banking model within The NDC Area, formalising existing links between community groups and projects, increasing their effectiveness in promoting financial inclusion.  Enhance credit union provision to assist in tackling financial inclusion.

The project aims to: develop In-school-savings-clubs, promote and deliver basic skills training that includes personal budgeting and money management, establish a community banking model, assist in the development of the credit union.

Outcomes include: increase the number of people in the WEHM area who say that their quality of life is very/fairly good, increase the number of residents involved in community activities, assist in educating the local children, increase awareness of The WEHM Initiative, assist in reducing unemployment, assist in improving life expectancy.
