REGISTER YOUR THINGS

If you've ever lost your mobile phone or a valued personal item, then you will know how inconvenient and sometimes distressing this can be. It's even worse if you have ever been a victim of theft.
That is why West Midlands Police are encouraging members of the public to register their phones, MP3 players, sat nav units and laptops on the UK's largest, free database 'Immobilise'.
If a lost or stolen item, particularly a mobile phone, is retrieved by police, they will check the Immobilise database for registration details and return the valuable items back to the registered owner. Electronic property scanners are used for this purpose by local officers working in your neighbourhood and also when suspects are brought into custody by the police.
West Midlands Police are committed to returning any retrieved property. That is why they are asking you to register your things so you're more likely to get them back if found after it has been stolen.
You can register your things on the Immobilise database be visiting www.registermythings.co.uk
