Community Arts Project

  • About Project

Name: Community Arts Project

Start date: 2007/08

End date: 2007/08

Project Lead: Simon Morris

Lead Organisation: Arts Exchange

Project description / summary:  To devise and deliver a programme of arts events in the area that leads to the development of resident-led event management teams. The project will identify and attract residents’ participation through initial provision of enjoyable community events, outreach activities and the support of a core development worker. Residents will gain training in events management and development issues, and be progressed through to join the NDC Residents Support Project.

The project will also provide highly accessible opportunities for the wider local community to engage in the arts through the events and from resulting artwork, and gain advice on vocational progression routes.

The project will also undertake further fundraising to continue and expand both the events programme and further creative opportunities, and further support residents to take an active role in this.
