Name: MUGA/Ashorne Close

Start date: 2005/06

End date: 2008/09

Project Lead: James Ogle

Lead Organisation: Coventry NDC

Project description / summary:  The project's purpose is to reclaim demolition areas for sport and recreation and therefore make a positive use of green space within the WEHM area.  The project is set to address the lack of leisure facilities.  The project will also show that the area is not being neglected and developments in the NDC are being adapted for current community needs.

It is hoped that this will be a rapid response to the issues around the leisure and poor recreational facilities.  Whilst larger umbrella projects are written which include the Leisure project and the Environmental Improvements project.  The project will contribute towards making the area more attractive and help to retain current occupancy levels during the transition.  This will affect many of the housing outcomes, health issues, and quality of life expectations whilst contributing towards reducing anti-social behavioural problems.
